The Turning Point Needs YOU!
Donation Requests
The Turning Point is always in need of donations to serve our clients. Please help us continue serving survivors of sexual assault by donating any of the following:Clothing: Did you know survivors must give up their clothing as evidence when in the hospital? The Turning Point advocates bring them new clothing to help them during this experience.
We are currently in need of the following items & articles of clothing.
Size small & medium underwear
- Size small & medium sport bras
- Size small & medium t-shirts, pants, & sweat suits (any pants or shorts with elastic waist bands)
- Journals
- Children's underwear (both boys and girls) small-large
- Children's clothing (sweat pants) small-large. (Usually need for children ages 5-9)
Note: The Turning Point can always use gift cards or gifts of any kind to both help meet the needs of our clients and to reward our volunteers who go above and beyond to help survivors of sexual assault.

Support the Contestants...Support The Cause
Extra! Extra! Read all about it! This year, a new award will be available at the Mrs. North Texas/Mrs. Dallas Ft. Worth Pageant...The People's Choice Award!! We all know, that the judges choice in a winner...isn't always the audience favorite...and this award gives the AUDIENCE a chance to have a voice. Votes will be cast at the pageant, for $3 per vote. All proceeds will benefit the Collin County Non- Profit, The Turning Point.
The Turning Point offers counseling and support to victims of sexual violence, as well as serves the Collin County Community in safety awareness for all ages. If you have supporters that can't attend the pageant, but want to vote AND support a great cause... you can always take up voting dollars and cast the votes for them at the pageant!
Supporting YOUR favorite contestant will also support a really great community organization!

2012 Mrs. North Texas/Mrs. DFW Pageant Announced!
So many great things are happening for the pageant right now and it's so exciting!! Officially...the date is set. The pageant will be held on November 12, 2011 at the Medical Center of Plano Meeting Room!
I am very excited to welcome on Plano Medical Center as our title sponsor! This is a great partnership, as we are both invested in our community!!
More exciting things in the works right now regarding new sponsors that we are adding...AND a local Collin County based non-profit organization that we will be supporting as well. Those exciting announcements are coming within the week so stay tuned!

Our First Mrs. North Texas America and Mrs. Dallas Ft. Worth America
This last Saturday, January 22, 2011, we crowned our first Mrs. North Texas (Kate York) and Mrs. Dallas Ft. Worth (DeLana Barsanti)! This was a very exciting event and all the contestants were great. The quality of contestant was strong! In addition to our new titles, we also had some special awards on Saturday. Sally Mesa won Most Photogenic, and the Fresh Face Award (facial beauty), and Kate York (Mrs. North Texas) also won the fitness award!
The new title holders will have 6 weeks to prepare for the Mrs. Texas America pageant which will be held March 5, 2011 in the historic downtown Corsicana, Texas.
